ANIMATION FUNDAMENTALS

ANIMATION PRINCIPLES CHALLENGE.

The 12 principles of animation are stages of animation and how an animation is styled depending on which principle is used to animate someone or something in a 2D/3D space. Animators use these to make their models animations look more smooth and realistic for movement.

I mostly used squash and stretch with a mix of movement of objects within Maya to simulate how objects would move in a final project.
I have learnt that Animation is an enjoyable factor of Game Development and it is limitless to what you can do with it.

My Reflection
The quality of my animation is basic enough to where it is smooth and the minimum of realism that you would see inside a game, however the ball squashing the rectangle could be more realistic looking.

This is also using Mayas Animation Timeline with the use of Rotation and Movement to make it look like it is swinging realistically.

Here is a Bouncy Ball we made in Maya using graphs to make the animation look realistic. This was possible by the use of Mayas Animation Graph and the Basic tools such as move and rotate.

I used squash and stretch to replicate the ball hitting the ground like it would in real life, I also used fast arcs to replicate a ball immediately leaving the ground as it hits it.

I learned that the graph editor can be a great tool for making animation look like it is real instead of inside a program.

Something I found challenging is syncing up the ball squashing with it actually hitting the ground.
